The Earth-Built Cottage
Welcome to our charming earth-built cottage, a beautifully restored farmer's house that blends rustic charm with modern comfort. Built using the traditional rammed earth technique, common in this part of Portugal, the cottage offers a naturally cool and cozy atmosphere. Inside, the wooden mezzanine and roof add warmth and character, creating a welcoming retreat.
The cottage has a simple yet functional layout, perfect for a relaxing getaway.
Comfortable & Fully Equipped
- Kitchen: The open kitchen features a dining table and chairs and is fully equipped for self-catering. You’ll find all the essentials, including pots, pans, cooking utensils, kitchen towels, and washing detergent. Appliances include a fridge with a small freezer, a four-burner induction stove, and an electric oven.
- Living Area: A cozy space with comfortable chairs, a table, and a wood-burning stove—perfect for relaxing with a book from our collection.
- Sleeping Area: A comfortable double bed, with the option to add two extra beds, making it ideal for a family of four.
- Bathroom: Includes a shower, toilet, and basin, with fresh towels, bed linens, blankets, and complimentary toiletries provided.
- Water: The house has both hot and cold potable water.
Outdoor Space & Stunning Views
Step outside to a private sitting area with outdoor furniture and a parasol—perfect for enjoying meals or watching the sunset over the hills. The cottage overlooks our terraced orchard and offers breathtaking views of the surrounding forest, with the sea visible to the west.
Location & Access
The cottage is nestled at the top of our terraced orchard, just above the main farmhouse. To maintain the tranquility of the space, parking is located at the top of the property, requiring a short 5-minute walk down the mountain to the cottage. We are happy to transport your luggage with our 4x4 vehicle upon arrival and departure.
